My photojournalism professor, Martin Smith-Rodden assigned our JOUR 335 class a wild card assignment that we had two days to complete. The theme was a weather photo. I wasn’t happy with what I photographed during our class time so the next day before the assignment was due I headed out around blue hour to shoot a weather photo. Below is the photo I used. I was unsure of what crop I liked best so I turned in the original photo and two more of the same photo with crops and edits. The class decided that they liked the third photo the best.

As discussed in class the moon’s white streak at the top was a little distracting and it felt as though getting tighter would allow the viewer to get to the biker quicker.

The class liked this crop the most, however my professor wished I would have kept the leading line from the street in the bottom of the image (see line in photo #2). Overall this is the one I will turn in for the final project due at the end of the semester.
