It’s been quite a while since writing… Freelancing has allowed me to regain my confidence as a photojournalist and that I am capable to shoot sports as a women in the field. I feel more clarity than ever about the direction I hope to go in 2025.
Reflecting on what I’ve enjoyed creating, I’m honored to present my 2024 year in photos.
I hope you’ll enjoy!
SPORTS
I was assigned to photograph the University of Denver’s men’s hockey team national championship banner raising. In addition to photographing the banner, I found these moments. For those who don’t know- I grew up playing hockey as a goalie on a boy’s team. Naturally I found the decal on the back of DU’s goaltender Freddie Halyk’s helmet in October for The Denver Post.

In March I covered Leadville’s Skijouoring event. I had never been, but out of curiosity I pitched it to The Denver Post.
Here’s what I saw.
I photographed my first boulder competition and had a blast! I’m an avid climber and I felt so grateful for The Spot Bouldering Gym to bring me on for this shoot in September.

I created cut outs of this tent and my Altra shoe simply for my portfolio. I want to work with more outdoor brands in the future. Both are shot on green screen and cut out.
behind the scenes to make the image, good thing my roommate Annie wasn’t home. Since then I’ve bought two 9x20 ft backdrops.

Curious cave enthusiasts have been hauling up buckets of mud out of an old mineshaft with the hope of finding a Cyclopean Cave that is said to be a myth in Leadville. Being at the bottom of the shaft 50 feet down is a little bit spooky. I was asked to join this adventure in September, shooting images for The Colorado Sun.
